What type of discounts do you offer military personnel and veterans?

Protect Our Troops has negotiated military discounts with nation wide alarm companies. The typical military homeowner can receive a state-of-the art wireless alarm system installed in their home for around $99 saving them hundreds of dollars.

Is Protect Our Troops an alarm company?

No, Protect Our Troops is not an alarm company. We simply advocate and negotiate on behalf of military families with the home alarm companies.

Do I have to be active military to take advantage of your services?

We raise money to reimburse alarm fees for deployed service members only. We do however offer military discounts for a home alarm system to anyone who has served in the military, active or not.

How does Protect Our Troops raise funds?

Our main source of fundraising is through generous donations from businesses and people like you. We also host fundraising events to create donations. We will be hosting a charity golf tournament summer 2010 near Hill Air Force Base in Utah. For more information on how you can further our cause and help military families please call 801-341-7079.

How much of the funds raised actually go to helping military families?

Our company's bylaws state that at a minimum 80% of all funds raised goes directly to military families in the form of alarm monitoring reimbursement. The additional funds go to overhead costs of running our operation. Currently our ledger shows that close to 90% of all funds we have raised has gone to helping military families!

How do I qualify for alarm fee reimbursement?

Our charitable efforts are  focused on reimbursing alarm fees for military families with deployed members. If you have someone in your family that is deployed be it a spouse, father, mother, son, daughter or significant other, you qualify.

How do I sign up for reimbursement?

We require three things to process your reimbursement.

• You must read and sign a Waiver Agreement from Protect Our Troops, this will be sent to you.
• We will need a copy of the service member’s current deployment orders. We ask that you black out any sensitive information; we will need to see the service member’s name and TDY.
• We will need a copy of your monthly statement from your alarm company.

Once we have received these three things we will process your reimbursement.

Does Protect Our Troops pay for my alarm fees or simply reimburse them?

We will only reimburse alarm fees. You will always be responsible to make sure the fees are paid in full and on time.

What does the $99 up front cover?

The up front $99.00 covers the activation of the alarm system. Much like when you purchase a new cell phone plan. This activation will ensure everything is installed correctly and operational. It will also ensure you are connected to your local fire, police and paramedics.
